How do you get to Ifaty and Mangily?
By the coastal road north of Toliara. The trip, some thirty kilometres, is arranged with local transport; the track’s condition varies with the season, to confirm the day before.
What is there to see?
Two fishing villages following one another opposite the reef, the lagoon, the outrigger canoes and the baobabs behind the beach. It is also a base for the nearby spiny forest.
When can you come?
Year-round. The south-west is one of the driest regions of Madagascar. From April to October the sky is clearest and the sea steadiest; from November to March it is hotter and a few tracks need a 4×4. We build the route around your dates.
